Our lives have been filled with some big and tough decisions lately between work, family obligations and our infertility journey. We recently took a few days to meet my family for a few days at Table Rock lake in Missouri. We swam, skied, played dominos (which we LOVE) and ate some of the best breakfasts known to mankind, compliments of my grandma. Also, Beefcake came with us and experienced her first swim! Talk about total cuteness!!!!
This time rejuvenates me and I just feel much more calm and at peace, when life tends to feel like a whirlwind. Upon our return, we went back to the fertility doctor and received some unfortunate news. My cyst is still present and large in size, measuring about 5 cm. So, it must come out, which means surgery and another delay in our timeline. This is both frustrating and scary, but we will conquer it head on next week. We are just taking it one day at a time.
There is nothing better then a long weekend to regroup and organize. We enjoyed a low key and lazy Saturday with napping and prepping for our lake trip next week, meaning shopping some of the holiday summer sales, including some new bedroom furniture ( minus the bed which will be coming later). We scored a basic dresser and 2 nightstands. I am super excited about their modern shape and industrial finishes.
Magnolia Home Furniture
I plan to compliment it with a softer upholstered bed like this and industrial sconces like these . Things are finally starting to come together and I will share after in the near future!
Following, we grabbed Beefcake, loaded up the car, picked up burgers from the Twisted Root and caught Roanoke’s fireworks show. It was GREAT and the dog was so good!!! We will definitely be going back next year.
Monday we spent prepping for the week and cleaning the house, but also had time to reflect and remember that our freedom comes at a price, and we are so thankful for the families who sacrifice!
Our Memorial Day weekend was great and a much needed time to disconnect. Friday evening I ran the errands which I typically reserve for Saturdays, while Eric had a “man night” with his friends. Saturday, we spent time working on a few things around the house, including a bathroom update coming to you soon. Sunday was spent at my parents, eating and playing board games, followed by a Memorial Day brunch, neighborhood Memorial Day BBQ and some quality time with Eric prepping for our fertility planning.

Christmas this year has totally been sneaking up on me! I mean where the hell did 2015 go? Anyways, it is that time again for our yearly Christmas card photo shoot, and as normal Beefcake did not disappoint with her glorious out takes!
But, as long as we get one, I mean just one good shot, where everyone has their hat on and is semi looking at the camera, we consider it a win! Merry early Christmas from our family to yours!
Life has been moving a million miles a minute lately. We have been visiting our house, aka dirt, a lot lately and are starting to see some progress. We have foundation now!!!! We have also finalized our paint colors for the interior as well. Loving the cool gray tones. In other news, I have been starting up with heavy travel again so spent the last week in Scottsdale. It really is so beautiful there. And, last but not least, of course I supported #nationaldogday .
