I meant to say the COLOR of music. Okay, I have been thinking about what we should do in what will technically be our “playroom” in our new home. We have a designated game room space that is large, this is more of an open loft space, maybe 8×9 ft. I want to build in desks, or shelving along one wall. But this leaves quite a bit of open and unused space( insert guilty face emoji). Unused space is an ultimate sin in my book, seeing as we are living in about 600 square feet currently. I was searching for ideas on Pinterest and had my mind blown when I discovered a painted piano.
I love the idea of having a piano in the home. I took piano lessons as a child and I credit my math and fraction skills to those lessons, plus it is extremely soothing and relaxing to me. But a painted piano, practical and stylish in one. My creative side almost burst! I have since been scouring Craigslist and have come to discover I can probally get my hands on a piano for free, it will just need some tune up. GAME ON!!!
I am thinking this grey color, in a lacquer finish, with a gallery wall and furry bench. We will have to see the style of the piano. I am not quite brave enough to go with a bold color. 😦
In other home news, I think I have found the couch I want for our living room. Problem is this beauty rings in at $6000+, however I found this gem for $1300 ( modeled by my mom and sister). Getting excited and making plans slowly but surely.
What I assume will be the most used and lived in space in our new home. Let’s enter my fantasy land, where budgets don’t exist and everything is insanely beautiful.
Okay, now let’s get real and come back to earth. These have been inspirational to me and I plan to use to them to guide my choices, even if it may not be perfect at first, I am determining a style and committing to a color palette throughout the home. We will see where my Saturday takes me in terms of price and possibilities. (Fingers crossed it’s somewhere good), but regardless subway tile is SOOOO happening!
Well, the calls and meetings have started for our new build. I will be visiting the design center for browsing this Saturday, so thought I would start preparing. I do not have to make any permanent decisions this weekend, and am not meeting with the designer yet, but want to start planning and checking out my options so I am better prepared and know what to look for on my own. Today I’m sharing with you my inspiration for my future master bathroom, followed by my paired down plans. This is so exciting for me 🙂
I love the faucets in this picture, they are feminine and soft yet still chic. Also, I am lovingly the simplicity of the shaker style cabinets. Also, after all these pictures, it will be safe to say I am a fan of white walls and Carrera marble.
This speaks to my love of clean lines, and loving those sconces.
Hello subway tile!!! Yes please!!!
The arching of the ceiling, floor tiles, glass shower, just everything about this is PERFECT! Too bad we have a budget to adhere to. Anyways, here are my plans… Feedback welcomed.
Or it will be soon, so I thought I would share some of my favorites!
1- These glasses are from Anthropologie and I LOVE them. They are a little on the pricey side, but I love the vintage feel. They almost look like lace. Also, they are not too Valentines-ish, so could be used throughout the year.
2- Bath & Body Works candles. The sweet pink shade and scent make this a perfect a Valentine’s Day purchase.
3- Miss Dior perfume. This is my signature scent, but I love how feminine the bottle is, the light pink shade as well as a sexy scent. This is perfect for the Valentine’s Day date!
4- NARS in heat wave. While we are on the topic of date night, I have every intention to rock the red lip. While also a little pricey for lipstick, this has hands down been my best beauty buy EVER.
5- A festive garland. This is from Steph Loves Ben Etsy shop. I love the look with the peach pop of color being so unexpected and price effective at $18. I highly recommend this shop, she turns out great products and quick shipping.
6- I picked these up at Target last week. I pave been obsessed with hot coco this winter not why not jazz it up Valentine’s Day style with pink heart shaped marshmallows.
And have lots to share. First and foremost I will be 29 in 4 days, gulp!!! I might as well be thirty, it has been a little wake up call to get it moving so here are some updates…
To date, in regards to my 2015 goals, I have made progress but not quite where I want to be yet. As far as homes go here is our second contender. It sits in the 2nd highest ranked school district in DFW so big plus there, plus in an established neighborhood near a HOMEGOODS!
I am LOVING this kitchen, but the yard is teeny tiny and there is no play room. 😦
Moving right along, it has been 25 days since my last caffeinated beverage and I have pretty much kicked that habit to the curb, but instead have replaced it with cake pops…yikes. Next week I will find out my ranking at work and I am EXTREMELY hopeful to come in at the top 10% but more to come there.
On the baby front, not much to report. We do not fall in the 20% that conceive in their first cycle. I will admit I am a little disappointed. I assumed if I aligned everything, along with providing the optimal health conditions ( no alcohol, no caffeine, regular folic acid, etc.) I would easily conceive. Not so much the case. I will admit I had some tears, but realistically know it was a long shot. So back to it.
Anyways, if ever there was something to put things back into perspective for me it was seeing American Sniper. This is an excellent movie. It is a reminder of the sacrifice made by our armed forces. It renewed my appreciation as well as my patriotism. I feel so honored to be an American and so very thankful for the freedoms I enjoy in life and for those who make it possible.
Those are my ramblings for this evening….a new capsule for Spring/Summer coming soon.
