As always, I am always on the hunt for new brunch reciepes. Que Pintrest! This takes about 40 minutes total time, so great for weekend guests.
What you will Need:
1 cup Flour
1/8 cup Sugar
1& 1/4 teaspoon Baking Powder
1/4 teaspoon Salt
1/2 Stick of Butter
1/2 cup Heavy Whipping Cream
2 cups Strawberries
Mix flour, sugar, baking soda & salt in mixing bowl. Cut butter into 5 equal parts.
Add butter and dry mixture to stand mixing bowl. Beat on high until finely grated. Add the heavy whipping cream and mix on high for 2 minutes or until dough clumps and thickens. Remove dough onto floured surface and roll into a ball. Pat dough down to a 1 inch thick cylinder and cut into 4 equal pieces.
Place on to paper lined baking sheet spread & 2 inches apart. In a separate bowl, beat egg and brush the tops & sides of the scones. Sprinkle with sugar on the top. Bake on 425 degrees for 14-15 minutes. While in the oven, cut strawberries for topping.
Let scones cool for 10 minutes. Garnish with strawberries, whipped cream & serve!
