…Easters on its way! We will be hosting this year, so you guessed it…planning is underway. What I am thinking is a Sunday brunch following church versus a big production dinner. One, I still suck at cooking and second, I need to spend Sunday evening packing for Atlanta for work. So, that being said, for the table setting, I am thinking white casual dinnerware with touches of soft pinks, but to shake it up add some bold flatware. Every table setting needs some va va voom!
Napkins , Dinnerware , Bunny , Flatware, Flutes
I also am planning on purchasing our kitchen nook furniture over the next 2 weeks. IF…Joanna Gaines would hurry up and release her furniture line that would be AMAZING! I am waiting in anticipation and have already picked my table and am patiently waiting to purchase. Below is what I am thinking for future state…
Chairs, Table Pictured but link is TBD
Finally, the menu…
*Fresh squeezed orange juice, mimosas and iced coffee
*Blueberry French Toast Bake
* Breakfast Casserole
*Fruit Salad with honey and powdered sugar
Any other menu items I should add to our brunch menu? I need easy ones…nothing crazy!
We are moving right from Valentine’s Day right into Easter without missing a beat. I am loving having a mantel again to decorate, but keep thinking it’s best to keep things simple until I figure out everything in the house as far as furniture, rugs, and drapes are concerned. I am planning on recycling the holiday decor, but needed something to make it cheery that was easy, as both Eric and I have been sick this week.
Garland , Pitcher old from Pottery Barn (similar here )
Gold Eggs , Hobnail Candle ( currently on sale for 2 for $20), Tray old from Home Goods ( similar here ), Berry Box
Egg crate , Gold whisk, Bunny Salt & Pepper Shakers
…and this last one is for giggles! 🙂
As always, we are getting excited for the next round of holidays and it was about time things started getting a little festive over here! Instead of plastering hot pink hearts all over our house, I just added a few pink accessories in a more muted blush tone that can transition into Easter in a few weeks when paired with other pastels.
White Mini Bowl , Pink Mini Bowl , Large Bowl , Straws
We hosted my in laws this weekend for the Super Bowl. This was our first mini-event in our new home. We made tacos, salsa and guacamole ( because you know I’m all about that guac!) as well as homemade cookies rocking the Broncos’ colors!
Drink Stand , Bowl , Wood Drink Trough , hobnail glasses old ( similar here )
We also made our first big furniture purchase over the weekend from Restoration Hardware’s warehouse sale. If you live in the DFW area you HAVE to check this out. This $3500+ farm table was ours for $1100 and it is in GREAT condition. (warehouse located in North Richland Hills). As I was channeling my inner Joanna Gaines (Fixer Upper reference), I also took home an awesome chandelier for $274, that my husband will be installing this weekend.
Light , Table
We are also shopping living room furniture currently and excited for what is in store for this space in the future. Also needing to find some dining room chairs before Easter. (And plates, napkins, decor, blinds, flatware, etc.). Any ideas on the perfect charcoal paint either?
