Clean Eating : Melon Chia Fresca

We are fairly big fans of juicing, not as in juice fasts but a nutrient filled addition to the day.  Today I tried a new recipe from Julie Morris’ book Superfood Juices.  First,  let me just say, I love love love this book, it makes juicing seem glamorous or like some type of special treat.  I expect this will last 2-3 days.  What you will need:

  • 1 honey dew melon
  • 3 Tbsp chia seeds
  • 4 mint stalks (we grow our own 🙂 thanks to my sister’s garden
  • 2 large cucumbers
  • raw honey
  • wheat grass powder


Prep your produce for the juicer.  If you don’t have one this is a great purchase.  It is best to go for quality here. We got ours from Macy’s on sale for about $300.  If not you can blend then strain…it works just not fun.

Let me take a quick minute to plug Crate & Barrel here for this awesome strainer.  We picked this up for $20.  One of my all time best purchases.  This never goes on sale, so no use in waiting.  Don’t these cucumbers look AMAZING !


Add honey, chia seeds and 2 cups of water.  Try to store in a glass on container with an air tight lid and fill to the top to limit oxygen. This makes about 6 servings.  Keep in fridge and this should stay good for 2-3 days.
