Also known as blessed! After my promotion, I opted to forgo my reward purchase (referenced http://www.houseofholts.wordpress.com/2014/08/01/cheers/ and http://www.houseofholts.wordpress.com/2014/08/14/making-lemonade/ ) due to budget, but this week was my first week in my new role. And this Sunday I happened upon these beauties in my favorite neighborhood discount shop, and they were EXACTLY my size and never been worn!!! I was beyond excited.
I am not talking about real lemonade, but that does sound amazing in this Texas heat. I am referring, to the old saying, well let’s just say life threw us some lemons, I was not excited about. Remember that promotion I blogged about and more importantly those shoes ( http://www.houseofholts.wordpress.com/2014/08/01/cheers/ ). Well, my husband’s car, which kind of looks like a giant yellow lemon, needed some work. Estimate $40-$60. All in, no way $980 with an additional $2600 in work on the way. So, I did want to treat myself but made it more conservative. $70 shoes v. $280 shoes… Still happy with my shoe choice and that the hubby is safe on the road.
And any other states which participate in tax free weekend. Today I picked up some goodies from some of my favs… Brooks Brothers, J Crew and DSW. On another note I should add a I am a candle freak…I love them. I will light a candle when I get home from work, before I even take off my heels. Anyways, fall is my favorite season for candles, I love the pumpkin, spiced, Carmel and coffee scents, but Bath & Body Works is my go to, with great scents and great sales. The fall scents have arrived and I am loving vanilla chai…I would highly recommend picking a few of these up. It has become my new fall scent, or at least until harvest coffee is released again ( please bring it back)!!!
Moving on, I wanted to share some other weekend snippets. I had a GREAT time with my mom and sister Marcy, as we visited ME spa in Southlake. They have the best pedicures EVER!!!
Tonight we went out to celebrate our anniversary and decided to go to a murder mystery dinner in Grapevine at the Texas Star Dinner Theater. It was so much fun and their team was hilarious as well as yummy comfort food ( we all need a splurge now and then). Turns out, our team was able to guess the murdered but I won’t tell. I would highly recommend, learn more at http://www.texasstaedinnertheater.com .
